This is a truly epic tale of the treacherous journey that American naval convoys took in WW2. It follows the first time mission of a navy commander played superbly by Tom Hanks in the Battle of the Atlantic. His highly emotive portrayal shows how much rides on the shoulders of the captain.
I was hooked into the drama of the responsibilities of the captain for the lives of the crew and convoy. Moved by the extremely brave men who risked everything in no man’s land where they had no aircraft cover.
It’s a really good length of movie and you will feel exhausted by the cat and mouse game between allied ships and German U-boats. Really good x
